Te Waonui Forest Retreat

Opening in Spring 2009, Te Waonui Forest Retreat promises guests a unique accommodation experience in a pristine wilderness setting. The hotel is enveloped' by rainforest where guests will enjoy the fresh natural scents and sounds from the impressive bush and mountain landscape.

Four hotel wings built to surround an inner area of native rainforest, with all guest rooms looking into the bush. Guest rooms have been designed with both comfort and environmental preservation top of mind. Double glazing and best practice insulation vastly improve the energy efficiency of each room, as well as helping to create a quiet, warm, cosy atmosphere.Ranging from 28 to 33 square metres, guest rooms are a generous size. Special attention has been given to guest bedding by adding a soft woollen underlay and plush down and wool duvet. Most rooms have large walk in showers but many also feature baths either with a separate shower or combined.
